FONCEDALLE is a trio amplified to high volume, a warm wave of acid guitars, boosted by addictive bass and fed on electronic beats. In late 2021 came the Traboule EP, thanks to which the band played some 40 shows between 2022 and 2023, half of them in Europe.
Their first self-titled album came out in March 2024 on Exag’ Records (BE). It’s rawer, the tracks having been worked and reworked live. While it’s still about rock stuffed with machines, electronic trance and melodic flights, you’ll also find oppressive stretches, uncontrolled din and ambient, vaporous passages.
FONCEDALLE is the missing link between the 80s Manchester scene, the noise rock of Gilla Band, the electronic rock of Soulwax and the motorik turbines of Turing Machine.
Preferring not to choose between being an open door or an impertinent product, the band would rather find a recipe they imagine coming from the future than open a book stuffed with references.
