Bloum

BLOOM is the meeting of 5 students in Le Mans, passionate about music from a very young age. These friends are united by a shared love of hybrid music that pushes past the boundaries of genre. Their sound fuses groovy jazz power-pop with influences from psychedelic funk, 70s and 80s rock, bossa nova and electro-pop. BLOOM draw on danceable artists like Parcels and L’Impératrice, on the softness of Zaho de Sagazan and Pomme, but also on the energy and spontaneity of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Altın Gün or the Red Hot Chili Peppers. This diversity of influences expresses BLOOM’s belonging to the new generation of artists freeing themselves from the constraints of musical classification, preferring to embrace a free and open approach to it.

The band draw on their own experiences to offer authentic, sincere tracks, delivering energetic music that is both introspective and deeply emotional. Their music is a quest for escape, a response to daily routine, carried by reflections on the self and on our world. The band are particularly interested in the impact of human relationships, whether romantic or friendly, exploring the complexity of emotions and bonds and the profound impact of these connections on our lives.

Standing out with lyrics sung in French, BLOOM take their audience on a personal exploration of intimate themes such as the search for self, human relationships and emotional release. Through spellbinding melodies and captivating rhythms, each song becomes a musical ballad that conveys deep feelings, sometimes gentle, sometimes intense. The saxophone, an instrument rarely used in this genre, brings a unique jazz touch, enriching their music with unexpected nuances and creating a warm, poetic atmosphere.

After a few shows in and around Le Mans where they shared their very particular recipe of musical fusion, they were warmly received by an audience buzzing with contagious energy at the band’s themes and colours. It’s along this danceable but emotion-filled path that the band are working on their first EP, a project that flies the colours of their unique sonic world high.
