About the Association

AMAC (Association des Mouillotins Animation & Culture) keeps culture alive in the countryside. Founded in Cuillé, Mayenne, it has held the CAF's “Espace de Vie Sociale” accreditation since 2017.

It runs entirely on volunteers: around thirty people involved year-round, more than 200 over the festival weekend, and not a single permanent employee.

The association puts on Festival Les Mouillotins, its young-audience counterpart Les Mouillos, and Les Émergences, a scheme to scout emerging musical talent run with local industry partners.

Our story

1991Young people from Cuillé revive the tradition of the egg collection, on the night of 30 April to 1 May.

1996Health rules ban the egg collection: the volunteers hold an omelette night instead to fund their projects.

1998The association is officially founded to bring local people together, young people above all, and get them involved in setting up cultural projects.

2017The CAF (family allowance fund) grants AMAC "Espace de Vie Sociale" (community hub) accreditation, recognising its role in local social life.

The screen-printing workshop

For several years, AMAC ran a screen-printing workshop to introduce as many people as possible to this printing technique.

One-day introductions for individuals, alone or in groups, at the association's premises: everyone went home with their own prints.
Sessions in leisure centres (from age 8) and in primary schools (from the last two years and during after-school activities), with designs suited to the children's age and to the themes chosen by youth workers and teachers.
A stand, fixed or roaming, at community and public events: live introductions and printing on items brought by the public.
Training for teachers and youth workers, with equipment on loan (frames, inks and tools), so they could run their own workshops.

From 2012, the workshop opened its doors to the public every spring. In April 2019, a workshop in Cossé-le-Vivien was used to screen-print the Les Mouillotins festival poster.
