Rest Up

Radical, sometimes experimental sounds. Music wrapped in contrasts, where voices stand out and search for one another. Rest Up, in their early twenties, are a band to watch closely. The trio met in Angers in 2021 and formed straight away, driven by an urge to compose and then, quickly, to play live.

Because it’s on stage that the friends reveal themselves, in full command of their music. Between art punk and crank wave. Between Ditz and The Psychotic Monks. Always in search of a specific sound, in the manner of Gilla Band, the Angers musicians explore and dissect. Right up to the release of their second EP last 17 November: It Was Summer, recorded at La Cuve by Elliott and Stew and mixed by Daniel Fox (Gilla Band). Six tracks to question life, cry out their unease and lay soft vocals over an abrasive sound. A deeply cathartic EP.
