Emerging at the end of the 2010s within the 90s-flavoured Paris indie rock scene,
Hoorsees released their first EP “Major League of Pain” in 2019.
Well received by Les Inrocks and Gonzaï, they were noticed abroad and set off on a European tour, then took their music to the United States in early 2020.
Spotted by the label Kanine Records (Chairlift, Grizzly Bear, Hockey Dad…), they were invited to play in New York and signed with the label shortly after. A year later they released their first self-titled LP, co-produced with Howlin’ Banana.
Sold out in a week, the album was repressed three times and got them noticed by KEXP and Libération, soundtracking a Thrasher video and recording a session for Rough Trade NYC and Arte Concert during their appearance at La Route du Rock in 2021.
Then came a run of festivals and shows in French and European venues.
Less than a year later, Hoorsees went again with “A Superior Athlete”, a record that broadened their audience with radio play (France Inter, FIP, RFI) and glowing press reviews (Télérama, Magic, Tsugi).
Just back from their second US tour in 2023, Hoorsees are about to make a 180-degree turn with the arrival of Zoé on vocals and the emergence of electronic sounds inspired by the golden age of the French touch.
