The last track on the EP Désordres crystallises all the anxiety of a generation lost somewhere between the glitz of success and a nihilism hemmed in by bad news. Over a production inspired by rock (The Strokes, Fontaines D.C.) and French electro (Sébastien Tellier), Johnny Jane sings here “Look at me, for years I’ve wanted to shine” ironically, but also paradoxically very pop. It’s an instant hit, a song you know is built to last. A track of doubt as much as self-affirmation, which perfectly reflects the record as a whole.
