Babel

Babel is a singer-guitarist from Mayenne whose songs, somewhere between rock, rap and lyricism, portray a tower block full of partygoers, temp workers and drifters. Alone with his guitar, he plays a blues-spirited set, mostly folk and sometimes swing, in a voice the magazine Tranzistor compared to Bertrand Cantat’s and Mano Solo’s.

He self-released a five-track EP, opening with “Temps de chien” and including “Petit rossignol”. In spring 2007 he was also on the bill of the À travers chants festival in Cossé-le-Vivien.

Winner of the Tremplin Découvertes 53 contest in January 2007, ahead of Morvels, Lyricx and Ibogatura, he won a slot on the Mouillotins line-up, which he joined on 19 May 2007.
