Abd Al Malik

Abd Al Malik, a former member of the Strasbourg collective NAP (New African Poets), renews rap by crossing it with slam, chanson and jazz. His album « Gibraltar » (2006), made with Gérard Jouannest, Jacques Brel’s pianist, brought him to a wide audience and won the Prix Constantin.

He went on to be named male artist of the year at the 2008 Victoires de la musique, and won awards for Dante (2008) and Château Rouge (2010). He also wrote Qu’Allah bénisse la France !, which he adapted for the screen in 2014.

He played the Mouillotins big top on 19 May 2007.
