Scuffles

Beyond the tracksuit jackets and the questionably tasteful samples of tuned-car engines, Scuffles set out to bring together two aesthetics that are rarely paired: garage/punk and techno. Conceived first and foremost as light and festive, the duo’s music keeps taking an increasingly melodic turn (now sung in French) and flirting with cold wave.

Spotted by France Inter, Tsugi and Rock & Folk in the wake of a new EP released in November 2021 and marked by a show at Bars en Trans, Scuffles prove with “Sur le bitume” that they have a string of irresistible, crowd-pleasing hits.

Over colours inspired by Rendez-Vous, La Femme or Vox Low meeting Arnaud Rebotini, it’s short, simple, head-on and hard-hitting, and always a real party, on stage as much as on the speakers at the after-party.
