Marabout Orkestra feat. Leila Bounous

Formed in 2013 by saxophonist and composer Johann Guihard, Marabout Orkestra blends jazz-funk, Ethiopian jazz, Afrobeat and Caribbean music, with no bass guitar but a sousaphone and three effects-driven saxophones. In 2017 the band recorded the EP “Sahara / Chérie Nata” with Franco-Algerian singer Leila Bounous, former voice of Orange Blossom.

Its show, scheduled for Saturday 9 June 2018 at Les Mouillotins, did not take place: the Saturday evening was cancelled after a storm, by prefectoral order.
