Niteroy is the project of Rennes musician Tiago Ribeiro, named after Niterói, the city across the bay from Rio de Janeiro. He puts the groove of old sambas and Brazilian saudade into neatly arranged pop songs, mixing batucada, synths and cavaquinho, on the Yotanka label.
