L’Atelier du rythme is the drum school founded in Laval by drummer Jean-Pierre Aubinière, who has taught there since the early 1990s. Based on rue Piednoir, in the Grenoux district, it keeps drums going all year round: public recitals, student performances at the Fête de la musique and master classes by guest drummers.
In 1999 the school released the CD “Joue d’la batterie mon amour” on the Tandem label, eleven tracks including “Laval par Mayenne” and “Planète batterie”.
The following year, its drummers came to Les Mouillotins.
