King Riddim

Reggae, ragga, dubRouen, France2005

King Riddim is a reggae band founded in Rouen in 1995 by two brothers, Sly and Falcon. Driven by a horn section and a singer switching between toasting and singing, it released a first four-track 12-inch in 1998, then “La Jungle” (2001), whose title track appears on Virgin’s compilation “Sur les Roots de France”.

“Positif ?!” (2004), mixed by Jamaican engineer Samuel “Jr” Clayton, and “LIVE” (2005) followed. The band opened for Raggasonic and The Gladiators and played to some 7,000 people at the Reggae Sunsplash in Rouen. After “Renaissance” (2012), it marked its 30th anniversary with “Le Temps” in 2025 and that same year opened for Steel Pulse at the Olympia.

It played Renazé on 14 May 2005.
