Eyo'nlé Brass Band

Founded in 1998 in Cotonou by the Ahouandjinou brothers, the Eyo’nlé Brass Band (« Let us rejoice » in Yoruba) combines traditional Goun, Yoruba and Torri rhythms with jazz and street brass. The musicians also sing about democracy and youth unemployment, and now tour as Eyo’nlé, Karnaval de Dahomey.

The band released Empreinte du père (2015) and Une Valse à Cotonou (2022) on Irfan Le Label, and played around a hundred dates with Les Ogres de Barback on their 20th anniversary tour, in Europe as well as Togo and Benin.

It played Les Mouillotins in 2016, at the 15th edition.
